Snapchat and Arabian Business inaugurated the first episode of the Positive Disruptor series in MENA earlier today. The series celebrates the power of progressive disruption across various industries in the region.

Hosted by the General Manager for MENA at Snap Inc., Hussein Freijeh engages in in-depth, one-on-one interviews with industry pioneers who have, in one way or another, demonstrated genuinely ground-breaking innovation and creativity in their chosen field.

The first episode of the series dives into women empowerment and gender equality with Elissa Freiha, founder of WOMENA, one of the Middle East’s largest platforms for compelling female-focused content to accelerate equality, diversity and education.

During the episode, Freiha shares her inspiration behind building WOMENA, the challenges female entrepreneurs face in the region and the platform’s efforts in supporting them.

WOMENA was founded in 2013 and creates inspiring and compelling female-focused content to accelerate equality and diversity, bringing the stories of female innovators, creatives and changemakers to a global audience.

Hussein Freijeh, General Manager for MENA at Snap Inc, said: “We’re excited to bring the Positive Disruptor series to MENA in partnership with Arabian Business. We will be speaking with some of the most inspiring founders and leaders in the region who are putting people first and harnessing their abilities for good.”

“We truly believe if you want to realise the future, you need to understand the leaders who are shaping it. As such, our aim is to inspire our audiences by sharing experiences and learnings from those who have found success by deviating from the norms,” he added.

Each episode of the Positive Disruptor series seeks to explore a different theme that gets to the heart of the current economic landscape in the Middle East, whether that’s digital transformation, workplace culture, female empowerment, diversity or wellness.

Positive Disruptor’s second episode features the CEO of Chalhoub Group Patrick Chalhoub and will be released next month.
