BCW, the global communications agency, has recently announced major changes in its leadership team.

These changes mark the first major adjustments since Corey duBrowa, former head of communications at Google, assumed the role of global CEO from Donna Imperato in August.

Notable departures: Sunil John and Mary Corcoran

Two notable departures are set to take place at the end of this year. Mary Corcoran, currently serving as North America president, and Sunil John, president of the Middle East and North Africa, and founder of ASDA’A BCW, will be leaving the firm.

Sunil John, who previously sold his shares in the company to WPP earlier this year, will continue in his position as president until the conclusion of 2023.

His responsibilities will include facilitating the transition of the region and clients to Scott Wilson, a seasoned BCW veteran, who has been promoted to the position of CEO for BCW’s newly-established EMEA region.

John is widely regarded as one of the most influential public relations executives in the region.

Mary Corcoran, who joined BCW from Real Chemistry last year, is preparing to move on, although her next career move remains undisclosed.

“With these moves, I’d like to thank both Mary Corcoran and Sunil John for all of their contributions to the agency over the years – Sunil built ASDA’A BCW from the ground up over two decades of effort – and wish them the best in their future endeavours,” duBrowa said in a statement.

In the United States, Kristine Boyden is set to assume the role of CEO, Americas, overseeing operations in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America.

Her responsibilities encompass business growth, senior client counsel, and talent acquisition, development, and retention. Boyden has also been appointed a member of BCW’s executive committee and global board.

Scott Wilson, who has held the position of BCW’s Europe and Africa president for the past five years, will work closely with Sunil John to appoint new leadership for ASDA’A BCW.

Joining BCW from Cruise, the self-driving automotive company, Kristine Boyden brings her experience as the former chief communications officer.

Prior to this, she spent over 18 years at Edelman, serving as the president of the agency’s US Western Region and the global client relationship leader for HP.

“She is a consummate counselor who lives and breathes her clients’ businesses – a practice she will further embed across our Americas region. Add to all of this her commitment to creativity that makes an impact on business, and you can see why I could not be happier to welcome Kristine to BCW,” duBrowa added.

Michelle Hutton will also join BCW as the global chief client and growth officer.

Hutton, who spent over 13 years at Edelman, most recently as vice chair of client solutions for Asia-Pacific, will become a member of the agency’s executive committee and global board.

Regarding Hutton’s appointment, Corey duBrowa said her “impeccable track record of exceeding client expectations at every turn.”

In addition, Guido Gaona has been promoted to the position of president, Latin America, overseeing BCW’s operations and talent throughout the region, including the BCW Brazil Group. Gaona will report to Kristine Boyden and serve on BCW’s executive committee.

“Over their long careers with the agency, Scott and Guido have more than demonstrated highly successful client management, business growth and talent mentorship,” duBrowa added.
