BrightCHAMPS, an Azim Premji Foundation and Indian billionaire internet entrepreneur and former Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal-backed global edtech, is set to revolutionise the education sector in the Middle East with its globally first ChatGPT-based platform for student tutoring.
The global venture which commenced its maiden operations from the Gulf region, is also gearing up for switching over to a hybrid model, with fully virtual tutor classes and opening physical classroom centres in Dubai and few other GCC cities, besides other countries where it operates.
ChatGPT-powered virtual tutors expanding globally
The company is currently in the process of soft-launching its ChatGPT-based virtual tutor platform for its financial literacy courses in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and is expected to launch the generative AI tool for its communications skills classes by the end of October.
“Our AI Tutor has already been rolled out in the UAE – as in Dubai and Abu Dhabi – and we hope to cover other countries in the Middle East region soon,” Ravi Bhushan, founder and CEO of BrightCHAMPS, told Arabian Business.
“We are also going global with this product, with rolling out the virtual tutor for our financial literacy classes in the US next week, and for our communications skills classes by the end of October,” he revealed.
BrightCHAMPS’ ChatGPT-based virtual tutor – which it said is the first such product globally for financial literacy courses – has been trained within the multiple contexts of the curriculum, and is aimed at taking tutoring to the next level by improving learning outcomes for students.

The company’s current model is based on one-to-one tutoring by teachers, hired from over 30 countries, offering classes in English or local language or both.
It offers courses in financial literacy, robotics, communications and public speaking to K-12 students, with options for 30 to 150 session modules.
The company charges $10 to $13 per hour, depending on courses and geographical locations.
AI tutors enhance learning
In the initial phase, the ChatGPT-based platform will be offered to students to login to clear doubts and get help in doing assignments.
The company is, however, working on developing a full suite of additional features in the platform to make it a standalone product to offer tutoring in a range of subjects.
“Earlier, if a student got stuck during assignments, they would have to wait till the next class to clear doubts with the teacher. With our AI Tutors, now they can ask them to clear their doubts and can move through their course faster,” Bhushan said.
The BrightCHAMPS founder said the company will roll out various options for students once the AI-based platform is fully developed.

“Going forward, once we have rolled out an AI teacher for all courses and we have enough data to feel confident that the AI teacher can teach the course at the same level of teaching quality as the human teachers, we will diversify our offerings,” Bhushan said.
“Then, parents will be able to pick combination packages such as 100 percent access to Human + AI teacher both – the most premium offering – or only an AI teacher or AI teacher + low frequency human teacher for more advanced concepts,” he said.
Flexible pricing for virtual tutoring
Bhushan said once the virtual tutor is rolled out for all our subjects in all our geographies, the company will look at business models with differential pricing, depending on the packages parents would like to take forward for their kids.
He said the objective is to ensure that the company’s offerings will be more accessible to a larger section of students and parents at multiple price points and they have greater flexibility in choosing what works best for them.
“Our ultimate aim is to give our parents and students the freedom to pay for only what they need, without any variation in the quality of teaching, regardless of whether they are with a human teacher or a virtual one,” he said.
“Right now, the focus is to ensure that the AI teacher is available across all our courses and in all our geographies, and that it operates at the highest level of quality and provides the best learning to kids,” Bhushan said.
