Dubai schools are likely to close for a bumper nine-week summer holiday on June 26, ahead of Eid Al Fitr.
According to a calendar on the Knowledge and Human Development Authority website, schools in Dubai will end for summer on Monday, June 26.
With Arafat Day and Eid Al Ahda expected to fall from June 27 to June 30 it means schools will have an extended break for the summer.
Dubai schools summer holiday
The UAE has previously announced term dates for the 2023-24 academic year.
The next school year begins on August 28, 2023 meaning schools in Dubai will be closed for nine weeks.
Around frameworks provided by the KHDA, schools in Dubai are able to offer a degree of flexibility over term dates.
The Dubai International Academy school calendar currently matches the dates suggested by the KHDA, with the summer term ending on Monday, June 26.
GEMS World Academy, however, is advertising the final day of the Summer Term as Friday, July 7.
The KHDA says the academic year cannot end before June 28. However, with Eid Al Adha expected to fall at around the same date, many schools will opt to end the school year with the announcement of the Eid holiday.
The exact dates of Eid Al Adha holidays for Dubai schools are estimates and dependent on moon-sighting and official announcements by the KHDA.
Expected dates have been announced for holidays for the rest of the year to give residents a chance to plan ahead.
