Oman has announced a new holiday and declared a 3-day weekend for public and private schools in the country.
To recognise and celebrate the impact of educators, Teachers’ Day, February 24 has been declared an official holiday for all educational bodies.
With February 24 falling on a weekend this year, schools have been given Sunday, February 25 as an official holiday.
Oman Teacher’s Day 2024
In a statement on social media, the Ministry of Education said: “On the occasion of Omani Teachers’ Day, which falls on February 24, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has kindly requested that this day every year be an official day off for all male and female teachers and those holding related teaching and administrative positions in public and private schools.”
Teachers’ Day will be celebrated every year said the statement, and if this day coincides with a holiday, it will be observed on another day.
