The UAE government has issued the academic calendar for Dubai private schools for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The calendar outlines key dates for schools starting in April and September, mandating a minimum of 182 school days.

UAE holidays: Academic year dates for Dubai private schools revealed
For schools beginning in April 2024, the academic year starts on April 1 and concludes in March 2025. Summer break began on July 1, 2024, with classes set to resume on August 26.
Students can now look forward to the winter break, scheduled from December 16, 2024 to January 6, 2025.
Schools starting in September will begin their academic year on August 26, 2024. Their winter break aligns with April-start schools, running from December 16, 2024 to January 6, 2025.
The spring break is set for March 24 to April 7, 2025, with Ministry of Education curriculum schools returning on April 14. The academic year for September-start schools will not end before June 27, 2025.
The calendar stipulates that all private schools in Dubai must adhere to these dates for the start and end of the academic year, as well as for winter, spring, and summer breaks.
Private schools starting in April have the flexibility to close any day in March 2025, provided they meet the required number of school days and obtain approval from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
In addition, Schools are required to tentatively communicate public holidays such as Eid and UAE National Day to parents, confirming exact dates once declared by the Federal Government.
