The CEOs comments came following a landmark joint venture deal with Bespin Global

Firms across the Middle East will run the risk of being overtaken by their competition if they fail to take cloud technology seriously, the CEO of e& enterprise Cloud, Miguel Angel Villalonga told Arabian Business.

“Cloud is here to stay and organisations that haven’t tapped into its potential run the risk of being outdated and falling behind their competition,” Villalonga warned.

“The biggest challenge will be faced by organisations who continue to stay in the constraints of traditional models,” he said, explaining that, “this will limit their adaptation of new technologies and market trends, which as we can see is where the world is headed.”

Villalonga’s comments came following the announcement of a joint venture agreement between e& enterprise Cloud and Bespin Global aimed at simplifying digital transformation and accelerating cloud adoption in the region.

“We want to enable organisations of all sizes to realise the benefits of cloud by simplifying the complexity of cloud and accelerating adoption,” said Villalonga.

He emphasised the significance of the collaboration, stating, “The formation of the joint venture with Bespin Global allows us to offer the right mix of cloud services based on customer needs, including cloud consulting, migration, and managed services. This will open up a plethora of opportunities in the public cloud space, especially as its deployment plays an integral role in many public and private sector projects today.”

The joint venture aims to provide end-to-end services for organisations embarking on their cloud transformation journey.

The partnership intends to assist enterprises in adopting cloud technologies and become the largest pure-play public cloud-managed and professional services provider in the Middle East, Turkey, Africa, and Pakistan (METAP) region.

Breaking constraints: Embrace cloud technology

Mouteih Chaghlil, CEO of Middle East and Africa at Bespin Global, said: “The opportunities that cloud unlocks go above and beyond the scalability, flexibility, and cost efficiency of cloud infrastructure. The biggest challenge will be faced by organisations who continue to stay in the constraints of traditional models because this will limit their adoption of new technologies and market trends, which as we can see is where the world is headed.”

When asked about the challenges within the rapidly evolving cloud sector Chaghlil explained that within the sector “the prevailing opportunities have consistently outweighed the challenges.”

He explains that there is a “misconception” surrounding the technology and that company leaders often believe that moving their data to the cloud increases their vulnerability. However, he was quick to affirm that “the reality is quite the opposite.”

“We expect that public cloud adoption in the upcoming year will be more boosted, supported by the Generative AI movement and organisations will need then the right support and partner to assist them in their journey,” Chaghlil concluded.
