Dubai RTA approves new long-term strategic plan

The plan is aligns with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, Dubai Plan 2030, Dubai Government Directives and the UAE Government Vision, ‘We the UAE 2031’

Seamless and innovative mobility, combined with sustainability are the key goals of the strategic plan of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) for 2023-30.

Safety, security and proactive customer convenience measures are the other focus areas of the new plan, approved by RTA’s supreme committee for strategic planning and corporate transformation.

The plan aligns with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, Dubai Plan 2030, Dubai Government Directives and the UAE Government Vision, ‘We the UAE 2031’.

The new strategic plan envisages RTA’s mission is to provide seamless and safe travel with innovative, sustainable mobility solutions and services to make every journey in Dubai a world-class experience.

The new strategy set five key strategic goals: seamless and innovative mobility, sustainability, health, safety and security, customer happiness and future-proof organisation.

“Revamping RTA’s strategic plan will focus on envisioning the future, undertaking strategic projects in support of the economy, wellbeing and happiness of residents and visitors, keeping pace with the global and future trends of roads and transport and supporting innovation,” Director-General and Chairman, Mattar Al Tayer said.

The RTA supreme committee for strategic planning and corporate transformation reviewed top global practices in roads, transport and future mobility means before finalising its new plan. It carried out benchmarking studies with several cosmopolitan cities and entities such as the SFMTA San Francisco in the US, LTA in Singapore, Transport Authority in Hong Kong, and BVG in Berlin, Germany.
