Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation has granted Jetex a licence to provide ground handling and business aviation support services at Red Sea International Airport, strengthening the Kingdom’s general aviation capabilities.
The licence was awarded in collaboration with Red Sea International Airport and announced during the Supply Chain and Logistics Conference 2025 in Riyadh. It enables Jetex to deliver its full suite of private aviation services at the airport, aimed at enhancing service standards, operational efficiency and the overall experience for premium and business aviation travellers.
GACA said the approval represents an important step in developing general and business aviation services across the Kingdom, in line with Vision 2030 and the aviation programme under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
New Jetex licence strengthens private aviation
The move also reflects the rapid growth of general aviation activity in Saudi Arabia. Recent regulatory approvals have supported the entry of several international private aviation operators, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing role in business and private aviation. GACA said it continues to enable qualified international operators while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
Awad Alsulami, Executive Vice President of GACA, said: “The issuance of this licence reflects the continued growth of general aviation at Red Sea International Airport and its expanding role in supporting premium tourism at The Red Sea destination. By enabling high-quality ground handling services at this airport, GACA is strengthening private aviation infrastructure to meet rising demand and to support Saudi Arabia’s emerging luxury destinations in line with Vision 2030.”
Ahmad Darwish, Group Chief Administrative Officer of Red Sea Global, said the licence represents a significant milestone for the airport’s development. “The issuance of this licence for Jetex is a pivotal milestone for Red Sea International Airport and a cornerstone of our ambition to pioneer a new standard for general aviation in Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Adel Mardini, Founder and CEO of Jetex, said the approval marks a key step in the company’s expansion in the Kingdom. “Receiving approval from GACA to operate at Red Sea International Airport is a significant milestone for Jetex in Saudi Arabia,” he said. “This licence allows us to support The Red Sea destination with our private aviation services, and we are proud to collaborate with GACA and Red Sea International Airport in advancing Vision 2030.”
Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector is undergoing wide-ranging transformation as part of Vision 2030, with GACA supporting growth through regulatory development, market liberalisation and targeted infrastructure investment. Authorities said these efforts aim to modernise the aviation landscape and strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a global gateway linking Asia, Africa and Europe.
