Dubai has secured the top rank for being the most visited destination on TikTok, with over 92 billion views on the short-form video sharing mobile application.
The emirate ranked as the number one global travel destination on a list by Airport Parking Reservations.
The rank comes due to city’s various attractions such as Burj Khalifa, Atlantis, The Palm and others, making it a prime location for content.
Barcelona, ranked number two on the list with 61.3 billion views, followed by London with 42.7 billion views.
London also topped the list for having more Instagram users, with at least 158 million posts tagging the destination on the platform.
Dubai also earned the third spot for top global destinations for Gen Z travel with a score of 7.10 out of 10.
In July, the emirate also emerged as the most popular destination in the world for users on TikTok, beating New York City which was last year’s number one.
The UAE emirate ranked number one in the study called “TikTok Travel Index 2022,” which covered 140 cities. It was conducted by luggage storage company Bounce.
Posts featuring the hashtag “#Dubai” had 81.8 billion views on the social app, surpassing New York City with 59.5 billion views and London at 36.8 billion views.

This ultra-modern city is home to some of the world’s most astounding architecture, such as the tallest building on Earth, the Burj Khalifa,” a statement from Bounce read.
Dubai’s travel and tourism sector has revived itself, after the pandemic which struck in 2020. Backed with safety protocols, strict regulations and crowd control, the emirate is now among the safest places to travel for a holiday.
The emirate welcomed 6.17 million international visitors from January to May 2022, showing a 197 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase when compared to the same period in 2021, which saw the destination attracting just over two million international travellers, according to government data.
