Emirates has extended the cancellation of flights between Dubai and Antananarivo in Madagascar due to continued civil unrest.

Protests continue to disrupt the Indian Ocean nation of around 32m people as citizens battle the government.

Rising tensions between protestors and government have seen demonstrations disrupting transport plans in and out of the country

Flights cancelled

Following a temporary suspension of flights, Emirates has now cancelled flights to the Madagascan capital, Antananarivo.

In a statement, the airline said: “Due to renewed civil unrest in Antananarivo (TNR), Emirates has cancelled EK 707/708 between Dubai and Antananarivo via Seychelles until further notice.

“Customers impacted by the cancelled flights to/from Antananarivo must contact their travel agency for rebooking”.

The airline apologised for any inconvenience caused to customers and said it continues to monitor the situation closely.
