Yas Island Abu Dhabi, the region’s leading leisure and entertainment destination, has appointed multi-talented Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds as its newest Chief Island Officer (CIO).
The announcement concludes a week-long suspense from a cryptic trailer video on Yas Island’s Instagram page featuring a mystery man.
In a new video released earlier today, Reynolds is seen making a dramatic entrance by skydiving into a midst of speeding cars at Yas Marina Circuit before revealing his new role.
“I’ve been an Actor, a Producer, a Welsh football club owner and I could go on, so I will… and now [I’m] the new Chief Island Officer of Yas Island Abu Dhabi” Reynolds said in the video.
The Canadian actor, who has appeared in films including Deadpool, Red Notice and Definitely Maybe among others, will be responsible for promoting the destination to an international audience.
The trailer video captures Ryan Reynolds enjoying the sights and attractions that Yas Island Abu Dhabi has to offer. The Hollywood star can be seen hurtling down a water slide at Yas Waterworld, exploring Gotham City, perfecting his swing at the golf course, and zooming down the roller coaster rides at Warner Bros. World.
Reynolds will succeed Jason Momoa, who took up the role of CIO last year, who in turn took over from US comedian Kevin Hart.
Liam Findlay, chief executive of Miral Destinations commented, stating:
“With the appointment of Ryan Reynolds as our latest chief island officer of Yas Island Abu Dhabi, we continue the tradition of excellence established by Kevin Hart and Jason Momoa. Reynolds brings his own unique blend of charisma, energy, and enthusiasm to the role, promising to elevate the Yas Island experience to even greater heights. We’re thrilled to embark on this exhilarating journey with him, inviting fans worldwide to be part of the legacy.”
Reynolds expressed his enthusiasm for his new role and invites visitors with the hashtag #RollLikeRyan to experience the island first-hand.
