Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has announced the development of a new VVIP terminal and private jet hangar in partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation, part of Alex Group Investment.
The project, unveiled at the Dubai Airshow, is a key element of the emirate’s strategy to attract high-value tourism and expand its aviation infrastructure.
Located just 15 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah’s beach resorts, the new facilities will serve as a gateway for luxury travellers, investors, and entertainment industry visitors. Falcon Executive Aviation will develop and operate a Fixed Base Operation (FBO) featuring a 1,500-square-metre terminal, an 8,000-square-metre multi-purpose hangar, and 9,000 square metres of aircraft apron and parking areas.
Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah’s Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, said the project marked “a major milestone that enhances Ras Al Khaimah’s ability to welcome high-value visitors, investors and partners, and supports the sustainable growth of the tourism sector.”
Sultan Rashit Abdulla Rashit Al Shene, Founder and Chairman of Alex Group Investment, said the expansion reflected the group’s commitment to elevating private aviation services across the UAE by “combining luxury, operational capability and advanced sustainability standards.”
The VVIP terminal will include a royal lounge, four private lounges, and premium hospitality spaces. It will also feature dedicated aircraft parking, a helipad, and space reserved for future vertical mobility developments. The facility will be built to international aviation standards with an emphasis on privacy, efficiency, and customer experience under the “Falcon Signature Experience.”
Designed for LEED Gold certification, the terminal will incorporate solar power, electric ground support equipment, and infrastructure to support sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as part of its goal to achieve net-zero operational emissions.
Construction of the project is expected to take 15 months, with the terminal scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.
The development aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s broader plans to expand tourism capacity and position the Emirate as one of the Middle East’s premier luxury and adventure destinations.
