The BMW Group is presenting an exclusive ‘BMW Individual’ zone where a bespoke BMW 7 Series composition inspired by ‘Steinway & Sons’ is taking pride of place.
This limited-edition model demonstrates the luxury motor manufacturer’s leadership in individuality. It is inspired by the aesthetics, quality and exclusivity of piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons and embodies the desire of both brands to harmoniously combine aesthetics, comfort and technical perfection.
Based on the 750Li, the BMW 7 Series ‘Steinway & Sons edition’ is presented in a perfectly coordinated colour combination, which features a black exterior and white interior. This is deliberately modelled on the colours of the piano keyboard and its contrast between black and white. The paint finish and upholstery and surface materials are the result of a design and build quality that has been developed specifically for this special edition and is unique worldwide.
To ensure a flawless finish to the body paintwork – reminiscent of the high-gloss finish of piano lacquer – the ‘Steinway & Sons edition’ undergoes a highly complex multi-stage process. Once the basic black paint layer has been applied to the body, three layers of protective clear coat are applied. Each individual layer is smoothed and polished by hand prior to the next layer being applied to ensure a deep sheen across the vehicle. BMW Individual V-spoke 20-inch light alloy wheels and a gold-coloured coachline running the full length of the vehicle further compliment the exterior design.
In combination with the Piano Finish Black exterior, the interior upholstery, door trim and centre console are finished in Platinum BMW Individual fine-grain Merino leather. Exclusive details as a result of the Steinway & Sons partnership include the embroidery on the headrests and seat cushions in the piano manufacturer’s trademark golden Lyra. The BMW Individual rear window and rear side window Roller Sunblinds also feature the exclusive Steinway & Sons Lyra.
Naturally, for an exclusive model that is the result of a partnership with a brand so deeply rooted in the world of music, the BMW 7 Series ‘Steinway & Sons edition’ features a bespoke BMW Individual High End Audio System. Developed in conjunction with LEAR, the system compromises eighteen high-performance speakers and a digital ten-channel amplified featuring Dirac Live technology. Just 100 of this limited-edition model BMW Individual 7 Series inspired by ‘Steinway & Sons edition’ have been produced worldwide and all models have been sold.
