Middle East designers showcased at Cannes
Forget Dior and Oscar de La Renta, at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, it is Middle Eastern designers taking over the red carpet
French actress Frederique Bel chose this sheer Zuhair Murad number. Bel was attending the premier of Irrational Man, a film starring Emma Stone and Joaquin Pheonix.
Also wearing Zuhair Murad was Chinese actress and singer Bingbing Li. She’s mostly known for her roles in Resident Evil and Transformers.
British Indian actress Katrina Kaif wore Elie Saab to the premier of Mad Max. In Bollywood, Kaif is one of the highest paid actresses.
For the second day in a row, Frederique Bel chose a gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad.
Andie McDowell picked a neutral piece by the same designer, who proved popular on recent red carpet events like the Golden Globes.
Lastly, it was Fast 5’s Michelle Rodriguez who wore Murad’s risqué sheer black dress.
