The UAE has strongly condemned the recent ground operations conducted by Israel in the occupied Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed deep concern over the Israeli military escalation, which has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in the region, posing a significant threat to civilian lives.
In an official statement, MoFA emphasised the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire to safeguard civilians and prevent the targeting of civilian institutions.
The Ministry underscored the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law, international treaties for the protection of civilians and human rights, and ensuring that civilians remain unharmed during the ongoing conflict.
MoFA also highlighted the significance of the United Nations General Assembly resolution, which was overwhelmingly adopted on Friday.
The resolution calls for a “humanitarian truce” in Gaza and an end to hostilities, marking a crucial step towards de-escalation, maintaining peace, and safeguarding civilian lives.
The Ministry emphasised the utmost priority of halting the escalation of military operations and ensuring the protection of civilians.
It also stressed the necessity of establishing humanitarian relief corridors and facilitating the immediate, safe, sustainable, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the affected regions.
