Sony Professional Solutions launched its new range of Ipela IP-based security monitoring systems, comprising cameras and storage devices.
The Ipela range will be available through Ateco, a UAE-based security integrator, which has worked on physical security projects around the region, including several for members of the Abu Dhabi royal family.
“Sony with its high quality product range combined with Ateco’s expertise in security systems integration, will enable both companies to provide a wide range of bespoke professional solutions to the market,” said Robert Sherman, divisional director for Sony Professional Solutions Middle East.
Sony says the Ipela range offers a number of advantages over traditional CCTV systems. Because the cameras have intelligence built in, they can perform a number of sophisticated processes on the edge of the network, rather than relying on a central processing hub.
This means the system places less strain on the network, and is also more efficient in terms of storage. For example, by performing motion detection at the camera, Ipela cameras can produce a lower-quality stream as default, switching to high-quality video when an unexpected event occurs.
M S Maini, general manager of Ateco, highlighted the capabilities and strength of Ateco in both the UAE and international markets: “As an official business partner of Sony, married with our in-depth systems design and integration expertise, we can now deliver the best possible system solutions that meet the precise needs of our many clients.
“Ateco’s design and integration experience ranges from simple stand alone CCTV systems to complex mixed used property security systems.”
The Ipela range is now available for enterprises in the Middle East, and includes the cameras as well as storage and control equipment.
