Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Saud
al-Faisal successfully underwent abdominal surgery, according to a royal court statement
posted on the Saudi Press Agency.
Al-Faisal suffered a minor blockage in the
intestines due to adhesions resulting from previous surgery, the court said,
adding that he is now in a “stable condition”.
The statement did not say where or when the
operation took place.
The prince, a 72-year old nephew of ruler King
Abdullah, has been Foreign Minister since 1975.
