Women’s police body to set up in Abu Dhabi

US-based organisation represents female law enforcement officers in 63 member states

The International Association of Women Police (IAWP), a US-based body set up to represent female law enforcement officials, has chosen Abu Dhabi as the location for its first office in the Middle East, it was confirmed on Monday.

The decision by the IAWP to establish its Middle East headquarters in Abu Dhabi was finalised by a vote of the association’s board at its Annual Training Conference in Newfoundland, Canada, Captain Amna Mohammed Al Bulooshi, head of the Emirates Women Police Association, told the WAM news agency.

The 63-member state IAWP is a global network of international policewomen’s associations and agencies. It provides training, professional development, and health and wellness for its members.
