Abu Dhabi Airports (ADA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with air transport industry’s tech engine SITA to explore the co-development of an Intelligent Total Airport Management (iTAM) platform designed to transform how airports operate.
The AI-driven platform will integrate real-time data, analytics and autonomous decision-making across the entire aviation ecosystem, improving on-time performance, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting more predictable passenger journeys.
As global air traffic continues to grow, airports are facing increased pressure to manage tighter operational constraints and higher traveller expectations. Under the new MoU, Abu Dhabi Airports and SITA will collaborate on a shared operational data platform that connects airlines, ground handlers, air traffic control, government agencies and airport systems.
By leveraging advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and autonomous workflows, the platform aims to anticipate disruptions, optimise resources, and strengthen safety and reliability. It will serve as a scalable foundation for end-to-end digital airport management and continuous improvement.
Andrew Murphy, Chief Information Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “This collaboration with SITA advances Abu Dhabi’s vision to be at the forefront of global innovation and digital transformation. By enabling Zayed International Airport to become one of the world’s first truly connected digital airports, and by powering this with iTAM at the core, we are creating a unified operational source of truth that accelerates growth and sets a new global benchmark for smart, seamless journeys.”
Selim Bouri, President of Middle East and Africa at SITA, added: “Airports today work in an environment that is more complex and more interconnected than ever. Every operational choice affects airlines, passengers, and partners across the airport. By collaborating with Abu Dhabi Airports, we have an opportunity to co-create a smarter way of working — one that uses data and intelligence to make every decision more predictable and more efficient.”
The agreement marks the start of a joint initiative to pioneer next-generation, AI-enabled airport operations, positioning Abu Dhabi Airports and SITA at the forefront of aviation innovation.
