UAE issues weather warnings as rains expected this week

The UAE is expected to see showers in parts of the nation this week, followed by the light rain in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

The emirate’s police force also cut speed limits to 80 kilometre per hour on select routes due to the onset of fog on Tuesday. This was later lifted.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has also issued yellow alerts due to rough seas and convective clouds, from 5AM.

The NCM added that it could rain until Sunday, as per its five-day bulletin, followed by cloudy weather. Winds are expected to reach 40 kilometre per hour during the week.

Temperatures are also expected to drop in the coming days, the NCM said, adding that mercury will fall from a high of 26°C to 23°C in Abu Dhabi by Tuesday and Saturday, respectively.

Temperatures in Dubai will also see a will from 27°C to 24°C during the same period.
