A British passenger on an Emirates flight from London to Dubai threatened to kill an air stewardess after he was refused more alcohol, Dubai Court was told yesterday.
The National newspaper reports that the 40-year-old Briton, AM, assaulted the attendant and told her he would chop her into pieces, on board the flight on June 2.
The court was told the defendant ordered alcohol prior to take-off, and another 20 minutes into the flight.
The defendant began throwing food around after being served lunch, and as the air stewardess, BS, began to clean up, AM began pulling at her shirt, causing her pain.
“He stood up and told me I was trash and a sex slave,” the flight attendant told the court.
He also began verbally abusing other staff on board the flight, and then threatened to slap BS and kill her if she did not give him more alcohol.
Other staff attempted to calm AM down, who went to the toilet and lit a cigarette, which triggered the aircraft’s alarm.
AM denies all charges against him, including one of illegal consumption of alcohol. The case was adjourned until September 24.
