The Commission of Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) has extended support to Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
“The Kingdom has the ability to achieve the highest levels of innovation and to provide an unprecedented experience for this global version,” the President of ECCAS said in a statement, explaining the reason for the Commission’s support to Saudi Arabia for the prestigious global event.
The Commission also extended support for Saudi Arabia hosting the first ‘Saudi-African Summit’ and the fifth ‘Arab-African Summit’ in Riyadh.
The Commission’s support to Saudi Arabia for the three events followed a meeting between ECCAS president Gilberto Da Piedade Verissimo and Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan, advisor at the Royal Court, at the Gabonese capital Libreville on Tuesday.
The Gabonese foreign minister Michael Moussa Adamo was also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of cooperation and opportunities to enhance economic and investment ties and joint coordination between the Kingdom and the ECCAS.
Advisor Qattan expressed thanks and appreciation of the government of Saudi Arabia for this support, which, he said, reflected the distinguished relations between the Kingdom and ECCAS’s state members.
