Dubai’s Soho Garden comes to heart of Palm Jumeirah

Arabian Business spoke to operations director Richard Jenman about what guests can expect at the new location

Soho Garden is a playground of discovery, an entertainment experience of Dubai that is unlike any other.

Dubai’s Soho Garden has come to a second location in the city’s ritzy Palm Jumeirah. Soho Garden Palm Jumeirah, located on the roof of Nakheel Mall, offers views of the giant ferris wheel Ain Dubai and the Palm.

Arabian Business spoke to operations director Richard Jenman about what guests can expect at the new location, how it differs from the original Meydan location, and how many jobs the second location has added to Dubai’s economy.

Soho Garden Jumeirah has been branded a “mega entertainment and F&B complex”. Can you tell me a little about what this means and how you see the space being used and evolving over time?

Soho Garden is a playground of discovery, an entertainment experience of Dubai that is unlike any other. A social phenomenon where is part buzzing urban scene, part tranquil walled garden offering a uniquely diverse mix of entertainment, dining, lounging and unforgeable night life experiences.

We pride ourselves on being able to offer the highest level of entertainment with the vast amount of local and international, artists and DJs that frequent our venues complimented with unique dining concepts and more to come.

Why did you choose Nakheel Mall and the Palm for this expansion?

Finding the right location was key for us and the upscale Nakheel Mall, being in the very heart of the Palm Jumeirah with its amazing panoramic rooftop was the absolute perfect choice.

How large is this outlet and how many jobs is this expected to add to Dubai’s economy?

It’s approximately 8,500 square metres, and we hope to have 300 new roles created throughout the venue.

The food at the original Meydan location is excellent. What can guests expect from this menu?

Yes, our Food menu at Meydan has been continuously evolving especially with our culinary team lead by the talented Chef Pol Garcia, and you can expect the same high quality and unique range of gourmet delights at The Palm.

Richard Jenman, operations director of Soho Garden Palm Jumeirah.

Is it the same as the Meydan location or will there be new dishes on offer?

Although some of our signature dishes will remain the same, our Executive Chef, Didier Jacob has joined us after spending 29 years working across the globe with a number of luxury properties, including resorts in Mauritius, Dubai, Thailand, Vietnam and Barbados.

During his successful career, Chef Didier has worked alongside celebrated Michelin-starred chefs including Richar Ekkebus, Jean-Georges Vongerichten the late Bernard Loiseau, Pierre Gagnaire and more. I have no doubt will be adding his unique flair and culinary skill to our Palm food experience.

This is the second location to open. Are you already looking further into the future and thinking about more locations?

The Soho Garden brand is strong and innovative, and further locations will be the natural progression when the time and the location is right.

Any ambitions for international expansion?

We are proud of being a Dubai home-grown brand and part of its success story. Soho Garden brand reach is already global through the international talents we hosted since we opened and affiliated brands and partners. Expanding both regionally and further afield is certainly something we are exploring.
