Mukesh ‘Micky’ Jagtiani passed away on Friday at the age of 70, the Landmark Group founder leaves behind a “formidable legacy”, the official statement read. Jagtiani “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.”

According to Forbes, Jagtiani has a net worth of $5.2 billion and was rated as one of the richest businessman in the region.

Landmark Group was established in 1973 in Bahrain with the opening of a baby item store and has since built into a conglomerate in the GCC region and beyond with brands including Splash, Babyshop, Emax, Lifestyle, Centrepoint, Home Centre and more.

“He will always be known for his inspiring leadership and even more so, for his humility and genuine concern towards all the lives he touched,” the statement read.

Landmark Group is behind over 2,200 stores spread across 24 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent.

He is survived by his three children – Aarti, Savitar and Nisha and his wife Renuka Jagtiani, current Chairman and CEO of the group as well as his grandchildren; Samar, Nikhil, Yohan and Aliya.
