UAE announces public sector holiday

The UAE has announced a holiday for government workers to recognise the Prophet’s Birthday.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has issued a circular to all ministries and federal entities regarding the Prophet’s Birthday holiday in the federal government, for the year 1446 AH.

The circular said: “Based on the UAE Cabinet resolution regarding the approved official 2024 holiday agenda for the government and private sectors in the country, it has been decided that the Prophet’s Birthday holiday will be on Sunday, 15th September, 2024.”

On this occasion, FAHR extended its best wishes to the United Arab Emirates leadership, government, and people, as well as the Arab and Islamic nations.

Aside from this, residents in the country can look forward to a four-day holiday in December as the United Arab Emirates marks its 53rd National Day.

The UAE observes its National Day on December 2, celebrating the country’s nationalisation and the beginning of the Emirates’ unification in 1971.
