The UAE has announced a holiday for private sector workers to recognise the Prophet’s Birthday.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that Sunday, September 15 (12 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446H) is a paid public holiday for private sector employees to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).

The decision aligns with the UAE Cabinet Resolution regarding the official public holidays for the public and private sectors for 2024.

The MoHRE extended its congratulations and best wishes to the nation’s wise leadership, as well as to the citizens and residents of the country.

The news follows a previous announcement of a holiday for the public sector to celebrate the occasion.

Aside from this, residents in the country can look forward to a four-day holiday in December as the United Arab Emirates marks its 53rd National Day.

The UAE observes its National Day on December 2, celebrating the country’s nationalisation and the beginning of the Emirates’ unification in 1971.
