The UAE Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) addressing circulating comments on social media, assured that the UAEPass is highly secure.
“Regarding the comments circulating on certain social media about alleged fraud by using the UAEPass, Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory authority- TDRA assures you that UAEPass is highly secure,” the authority said via X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.
UAE Pass is an official government app, which allows citizens and residents access hundreds of services in the country via a smartphone interface and without having to use multiple usernames and passwords.
The authority urged users to exercise caution upon receiving notifications and login requests. to avoid potential fraud attempts.
Last year, similar safety concerns emerged and the UAE authority issued a safety alert.
“It is essential to thoroughly verify these requests before clicking any buttons to avoid potential fraud attempts by individuals seeking unauthorised access to your accounts,” TDRA alerted.
