Haven Fire and Safety is planning to enter discussions with the Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) regarding the potential use of new life safety equipment in high-rise construction projects.
The firm launched a trolley-based fire and life safety solution into the Middle East at January’s Intersec 2008 exhibition. Manufactured in Germany by Ansul, the Safe Caddy is a self-contained trolley with fire extinguishers, first-aid kit and storage areas for project-specific items such as fire gloves and blankets. The entire system is encased in a weatherproof, fire-resistant cover.
“In this format it is ideal for use in high-rise construction projects,” stated Gerry Boux, managing director of Ansul distributor Haven Fire and Safety. “With a multi-national workforce…language is an issue, but it’s obvious what this is for and people can grab it and deal with an incident quickly. Also, you construct the building you can move these up the floors,” he added.
