Dates revealed for the next public holiday in the UAE as Islamic New Year holiday

UAE schools are already looking ahead to summer 2023 holidays, with terms expected to end after June 28 according to education authorities.

It means schools in the country will offer pupils a bumper nine-week holiday before the 2023-2024 academic year begins at the end of August.

Earlier this year Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a meeting of the UAE Cabinet at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi.

UAE School holiday academic calendar 2023-2026

In that meeting the UAE Cabinet adopted the public and private school calendar for the coming three academic years.

The decision established a clear and detailed timeline of school days and holidays.

The United Arab Emirate’s Cabinet decision says schools must have a minimum of 182 school days in each academic year.

Below are the academic school calendars for the next three years.

2023-2024

  • Start of the academic year: August 28, 2023
  • Winter break: December 11, 2023 – January 1, 2024
  • Spring break: March 25 – April, 14 2024

2024-2025

  • Start of the academic year: August 26, 2023
  • Winter break: December 16, 2024 – January 5, 2025
  • Spring break: March 24 – April, 13 2025

2025-2026

  • Start of the academic year: August 25, 2025
  • Winter break: December 15, 2025 – January 5, 2026
  • Spring break: March 23 – April, 12 2026
