An Arabic version of a major global questionnaire has revealed that 30% of Kuwaiti adults surveyed suffer from musculoskeletal pain not related to trauma.
The survey, which polled 6,749 adults, noted that most sufferers reported the severity of the pain as moderate to severe, with functional disability reported in 39.1% of respondents. The incidence of musculoskeletal pain was higher in females, with 35.7% of women respondents reporting pain, compared to 20.2% of males.
The questionnaire was originally launched by the World Health Organisation and the International League of Associations for Rheumatology (WHO-ILAR). It is one of the first times that a WHO research project has been fully Arabized.
