Gourmet date connoisseur Bateel has revealed its first Expo 2020 Dubai date boxes designed to celebrate Emirati and Arab culture.
Each box is wrapped in matte paper adorned with gold foil date palms symbolising the Gulf’s region celebrated national trademark.
Harvested in Bateel’s organic date farm in Al Ghat, Saudi Arabia, the dates are the first in a series of licensed products the firm will produce in the lead up to and during the much-awaited Expo 2020.
The boxes, which come in 120g and 350g sizes, are now available in selected stores across the UAE.
They represent part of a wider selection of 5,000 unique Expo 2020 Dubai products made by 70 licensees across 40 categories including other food products, luxury goods and souvenirs, expected to be rolled out in the coming months.
Expo 2020 will mark the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA).
Its licensed products aim to reflect and share the UAE’s culture and heritage to a global audience of millions.
