A couple caught by police having sex in the back of a car have won their appeal after Dubai appeals court ruled the officer invaded their privacy.

The newly-weds from Pakistan faced a month in prison and deportation after being found guilt of public indecency by the misdemeanors court, 7Days reports on Tuesday.

An officer caught them in the act in the back of their Honda Accord, parked at The Walk in Jumeirah Beach Residence last May.

The car had heavily tinted windows and a sun shield covering the front window.

Majid Al Kabban, the couple’s lawyer, was quoted by the paper as telling the court: “They were inside a private car and the witness invaded their privacy by staring inside. No policeman can enter a house without a warrant and a car is also private property.

“The officer said it was hard to see what was going on inside, so they were not committing an indecent act in public as nobody could see.”
