Saudi-owned Frankel, the world’s best racehorse, on Wednesday extended his unbeaten streak by winning the £725,000 Juddmonte International Stakes at the Yorkshire Ebor Festival in the UK.
The four-year-old colt, owned by Saudi Prince Khalid Abdullah, has now won 13 consecutive races with a career prize money pot of more than £2m.
Frankel, who went off at odds of 1-10, tackled a mile and a quarter for the first time in his impeccable career and eased home in front of a field that included four Group 1 race winners.
Frankel has so far dispatched every rival that has taken him on, scooping nine Group 1 prizes in the process. Previous victories include the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot and the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
Rated the best racehorse in the world by the British Horseracing Authority, Frankel is trained by Henry Cecil and sired by Derby winner Galileo.
Frankel’s popularity has seen a range of merchandise – including T-shirts, mugs, caps and badges – launched in his honour, with profits going to charity.
