A UAE-based company making composite parts for aircraft manufacturers will supply $80 million worth of goods to Airbus this year.
Al Ain-based Strata, which was founded in 2010, supplies wing tips for the A330/340 and flap track fairings for the A380 and will also produce parts for the A350 and A320, according to the CEO of Airbus, Fabrice Brégier.
“There is a high level of skill and know-how in Abu Dhabi. This is the first step,” Brégier told The National newspaper. “The next step is growing a step further. … We have plans to grow further to move to composite production parts on the A350 and A320 and we are in discussions for that.”
Strata, a subsidiary of Mubadala, also makes advanced composite parts for Boeing’s 777 and 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
