Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has been named the Middle East’s leading tourist attraction at the World Travel Awards Gala event.
The park, which is currently undergoing ambitious expansion plans, earlier this month announced plans to build a new record-breaking rollercoaster called Flying Aces.
Commenting on the win, Jesse Vargas, general manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, said in comments published by news agency WAM: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award and would like to thank World Travel Awards and our fans for recognising us as a key player in the theme park industry.
“Since 2010, the park has been offering visitors an unmatched exhilarating experience and over the past few months we have embarked on an unprecedented expansion to deliver an even more thrilling experience for each family member.”
Flying Aces was revealed at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) earlier this month.
“There are very few theme parks that have undertaken such a significant expansion as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Its [Flying Aces] design and storyline are deeply rooted in the rich history of Ferrari,” said Vargas.
Although Ferrari World, which was built by developer Aldar, already houses the world’s fastest roller coaster, its newest addition is a faster, as well as steeper, steel version.
It features a 51 degree inclined hill and a 52 metre loop, making it the world’s tallest.
The park’s new add-ons also include climbing and free fall jumping at the Junior Training Camp.
