A 168-acre estate owned by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, which includes an underwater entrance, an artificial volcano and an amphitheatre is reportedly set to be sold to Saudi royalty for £350million ($541 million).
Located on Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, Villa Certosa also consists of 68 rooms, six swimming pools, a private entrance for sail boats, an orange grove and a tennis court.
The 78-year-old former Italian controversially throw many lavish parties at the venue and, according to the Corriere della Sera newspaper, he recently gave Saudi Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef a tour of the venue. While a deal has yet been finalised, it is believed Prince Nayef is planning to buy the estate on behalf of his uncle, King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Said.
