Gulfstream’s eagerly-awaited G650 ER will be on display at the Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) event at Dubai World Central next month.
According to Larry Flynn, president of Gulfstream, the plane offers, “a speed-and-range combination that makes it a game-changing aircraft.”
“In short, the G650ER goes farther at faster speeds than any other business jet on the market,” he said.
The G650 ER has a stated maximum range of 7500 nautical miles, top speed of Mach 0.925 and can seat up to 18 passengers.
This means it can potentially fly non-stop between Hong Kong and New York; or Los Angeles and Melbourne.
Whether or not it can actually do that depends, of course, on how many passengers and how much baggage it carries and how fast the plane flies.
Gulfstream states that at a speed of Mach 0.90, the G650ER will carry eight passengers 6,400 nautical miles/11,853 kilometers.
The G650 ER was recently certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and the first fully outfitted models are expected to be delivered to customers by the end of the year.
MEBA takes place on December 8-10 at Dubai World Central and attendees include the biggest names in business aviation, including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer and Gulfstream, along with local heavyweights such as Etihad Airways, Emirates Executive, Qatar Executive and Saudia Private Aviation.
The event organiser, F&E Aerospace, expects to welcome around 400 exhibitors, more than 8,000 visitors and 50 aircraft on static display.
