Arabian Business Achievement Awards 2015
Event recognised 15 winners from across the length and breadth of industry, and honoured Karim Wasfi as the Humanitarian of the Year

FGB won the Bank of the Year award for its work in expanding lending to smaller businesses. The trophy was collected by Jasim Al Ali, CEO of First Gulf Properties and Mismak Properties AND Mufazzal Kajiji, head of affluent segment – CBG.
Search In MENA.com won Small Business of the Year. CEO Salim Akil and co-founder Kamil Mavadin picked up the award.
The Developer of the Year award went to Meraas. Chief projects officer Omar Delawas collected the trophy.
The Young Achievers of the Year were Bilal and Mohamed Ballout, the founders of the BMB Group.
DIFC Courts won the International Achievement Award. The trophy was collected by Nassir Al Nasser, judicial officer and small claims tribunal judge; Lema Hatim, senior case progression officer; and Natasha Bakirci, assistant registrar.
Emirates won Airline of the Year. Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, divisional senior vice president for commercial operations – Centre – was on hand to pick up the award.
Retailer of the Year went to Majid Al Futtaim. Pictured here is Fuad Al Najjar, asset management senior director for shopping malls.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation won the inaugural NGO of the Year award. Hassan Al Damluji, head of Middle East relations, collected the award.
The Special Recognition Award was won by Invest Group Overseas. Managing partner and CEO Anas Kozbari and chairman Moafaq Al Gaddah picked up the trophy.
Faizal Kottikollon won the Visionary of the Year award.
The head of HR for Saudi Aramco, Huda Al Ghoson, picked up the Businesswoman of the Year award.
Ravi Pillai, the chairman of RP Group, won Businessman of the Year. The award was collected on his behalf by Vinod Pillai, RP Group’s group general manager.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Nuqul Holding founder Elia Nuqul. Peter Janho collected the award.
Karim Wasfi, the ‘Maestro of Baghdad’ won Humanitarian of the Year award. He was presented with the award by last year’s Humanitarian of the Year, Dr David Nott.
