Dubai Courts will now be able to freeze the assets of suspected criminals and issue travel bans within an hour, compared to seven days under the old system, according to a report by 7DAYS newspaper.
Judge Taresh Edi Al Mansouri, director-general of Dubai Courts, said that the current system means orders have to be printed, sent to a government body, approved, and signed before coming into effect.
He said: “With this new room, it will take only one hour to implement the order. Just today we had more than 100 orders implemented.”
Among the agencies involved in the new system are Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Land Department, and Department of Economic Development.
