UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Islamabad today (Friday 26, December) for an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

He was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, alongside senior ministers and officials. As the UAE President’s aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, it was escorted by military jets in a ceremonial gesture of welcome.

An official reception followed on arrival, with the national anthems of both countries played, a 21-gun salute fired, and an honour guard assembled in tribute. Military and traditional bands performed, while children waving UAE and Pakistani flags lined the route.

The accompanying delegation includes Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, advisers to the UAE President, as well as Salem Mohammed Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, along with a number of ministers and senior officials.
