Meet the man behind the next stage of AI – Artificial Wisdom

Meet Dr Abdalla Kablan, who is already thinking about what comes after AI

Big data and artificial intelligence specialist Dr. Abdalla Kablan

If you though the rise of AI was momentous, then you need to prepare for the next level: AW – Artificial Wisdom.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) was supposed to make our lives easier and better. While models like ChatGPT and Adobe Sensei represent a major milestone for the technology, they also exposed flaws that show how AI still has a ways to go to achieve its purpose.

Which has led AI expert and entrepreneur Dr. Abdalla Kablan to solve this challenge by getting AI to its next evolutionary stage: Artificial Wisdom.

Widely recognized as one of the top experts in AI, Dr. Kablan is the mind behind successful startups like Wyzer, Caledo, HippoData, and Trigonomy. Having advised and invested in several startups in the past, the successful Arabian entrepreneur is now launching a global AI tech investment fund.

“We are now just scratching the surface of what AI can do for society as a whole,” says Dr. Kablan. “I’m looking to help entrepreneurs who are pushing the boundaries of AI with this initiative, as I believe that the current state of the technology could be detrimental without rapid innovation.

Dr. Kablan has often expressed his belief that the AI industry shouldn’t focus on replicating human intelligence, as this would result in inefficient systems. According to him, focusing on replicating human wisdom is the way to go as that would make these systems more efficient at understanding, managing, and creating information. This would also represent a return to AI’s original purpose: making our lives not only easier but also better.

“Intelligence is all about obtaining knowledge and using it, while wisdom is all about understanding this knowledge, how it can be used, and the possible ramifications,” explains  Dr. Kablan. “By focusing on imbuing these models with wisdom instead of intelligence, we are making sure they naturally follow a benevolent path which serves humanity as a whole.”

The argument made by Dr. Kablan is better reflected by the unsustainability of generative AI models like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion. As these models are in what Dr. Kablan calls “step 3” and lack a true understanding of the information they manage, they rely entirely on content created by humans. A wise generative AI model would understand its reliance on human creativity, nurturing and supporting it instead of destroying it.

“Whether they express it in this way or not, the main reason why many people fear AI is these models’ lack of wisdom. We understand its consequences at a basal level, ” adds Dr. Kablan. “Think of the most evil people in humanity’s history and you will find they were quite intelligent but not as wise. If we choose wisdom, we are safeguarding the future.”

By investing in those who share his vision, Dr. Kablan is pushing toward a future in which AI (or should we say AW?) is even more powerful and efficient, all while being considered an ally instead of a potential threat. With regulators and developers around the world now focused on navigating the ethics minefield surrounding AI, Dr. Kablan’s approach to AI is sure to become increasingly attractive.

With the launch of his fund, Dr. Kablan has joined a gold rush that will dominate the next decade. Not only is AI set to contribute $4.4 trillion to the global economy by 2032. His vision, experience, and reputation are certain to benefit the lucky entrepreneurs and businesses that get to work with him and in turn, everyone who will see their life impacted by AI… Which is all of us.
