Samsung has set its sights on achieving strong double-digit growth in the mobile handset market after naming Axiom Telecom as its distributor in the Saudi market.
Samsung believes Axiom, which is a partner of service provider Mobily and boasts more than 170 outlets in Saudi, will give it the reach it needs to meet its targets.
“While Samsung is a leader in communications technology and design, Axiom Telecom has a strong local and regional experience with extensive market penetration,” commented Dongeon Lim, general manager MEA for mobiles at Samsung.
He added: “Samsung had a market share of about 17% in the MEA region in 2006. We are currently aiming for an ambitious sales growth of over 45% in 2007.”
