The German government thinks the word 'autopilot' is misleading, and has asked Tesla to stop using it in its advertising.

The transport ministry said that calling the driver-assist function an 'autopilot' suggests that drivers don't need to pay attention to what's happening around them.\n\n"In order to prevent misunderstanding and incorrect customers' expectations, we demand that the misleading term Autopilot is no longer used in advertising the system," the ministry said in its letter to Tesla.\n\nTesla's autopilot system is more semi-autonomous than self-driving. It's capable of managing its speed, streer and change lanes and even park itself.\n\nGermany is taking the autopilot safety issue seriously: its transport regulator also wrote to Tesla owners this week to warn them that they need to stay alert at the wheel at all times…
