Victoria Beckham has been offered a £25million ($40.5million) deal to design a luxury hotel in Dubai, sources have revealed.
“Even in these credit-crunched times, the fee offered to Victoria was astronomical. She was absolutely stunned,” an unnamed source told the UK’s Daily Mirror.
“She was asked to put her name to the hotel and help with everything from room design to the make of the wardrobes and furnishings.”
The source told the paper Posh Spice was offered the deal after holidaying in Dubai last year with her husband David.
The hotel will be located on a fashion-themed island called Isla Moda off the Dubai coast, which is part of The World development, the paper said. It will be designed by the 35-year-old former pop singer and the designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Posh, a mother of three boys, has not yet accepted the offer.
“She’s not just going to put her name to anything for money. It has to be a fantastic project,” the source told the paper.
“The parties have been emailing each other for a number of months. The sum offered was incredible and Victoria obviously loves Dubai.”
Last night a spokeswoman for Beckham told the paper: “Victoria is always keen to look at ways of growing her business but for now her focus is New York fashion week next month.”
