Abu Dhabi has announced eight road closures to accommodate runners at the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, which will take place on Saturday, December 17.
Abu Dhabi ITC announced that the roads will be closed to ensure maximum safety of the marathon participants on Saturday.
The marathon event will see participation from several sports enthusiasts of various ages and abilities, touring some of emirate’s notable landmarks.
The event, which will cover a 42 kilometres route, starting from ADNOC Headquarters, and taking its way through the most remarkable landmarks of the city – including the Crown Prince Court, Al Bateen Palace, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Hosn, and the World Trade Centre Abu Dhabi, ADNOC said in a statement.
The shorter distance races will commence in front of the Nation Towers on Corniche Road and end on Al Marsa Street, while the full marathon and 10-kilometer races will have the finish line at the ADNOC Campus, where a race village has been established, ADNOC added.
