Petrol prices in Qatar are set to increase by up to 7 percent from December 1, according to a new price list circular issued by the Ministry of Energy and Industry.
The cost of ‘premium’ petrol (octane rating of 91) will increase by 10 dirhams to QR1.45 ($0.39 cents), while the cost of ‘super’ grade petrol will be QR1.50 ($0.41), five dirhams more than the November price.
The cost of diesel will remain at QR1.40 ($0.38), as it has been for a number of months.
The premium grade petrol has increased by 16 percent from the October price, and up by 20 percent from when the new pricing system was introduced.
Similar to the UAE, the ministry began basing the price of petrol in international prices from April this year, which is reviewed every month.
The UAE will announce if there are any changes to the price of petrol later today, according to the country’s Ministry of Energy.
