A fire that broke out at the Expo 2020 Dubai site on Monday morning was quickly contained and is now extinguished, with no injuries reported, according to a spokesperson.
“A medium-sized fire broke out earlier this morning, on the Expo 2020 site in construction debris,” an Expo spokesperson told Arabian Business.
“The fire was brought under control quickly by emergency services. It is now out, and nobody was harmed,” the spokesperson added.
Emergency services were quick to arrive at the scene, the spokesperson said in an earlier statement, adding that the fire was believed to have been caused by a problem during welding works
No injuries were reported during the incident.

Earlier in May, it was confirmed that Expo 2020 Dubai has been postponed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and will now begin in 2021. The event will now run from October 1 2021 to March 31, 2022.
