Dubai Holding Entertainment’s Roxy Cinemas will open a new screen at the Dubai Hills Mall on August 31.
The 423-square-metre screen is claimed to be the biggest of its kind in the emirate and all of the MENA region, and is titled Roxy Xtreme.
The Roxy Xtreme auditorium will also feature 382 premium reclining seats across three tiers: standard, premium and director’s boxes, it said in a statement.
“The 15-screen Roxy Cinemas multiplex at Dubai Hills Mall will redefine the cinema-going experience for the UAE audiences with new levels of luxury across all our screens. Roxy Xtreme sets a new benchmark for cinemas in Dubai and the wider region as the huge screen provides an unforgettable experience for all types of movie lovers,” explained Dubai Holding Entertainment’s chief executive officer Fernando Eiroa.
The director’s boxes seats are luxurious suites perched above the auditorium, and will offer customers a view of the Roxy Xtreme screen with comfort and privacy, the entertainment group said, adding VIP director’s boxes will feature 12 seats.
Those viewing the movie from director’s boxes can avail services, without having to leave their seats.
Guests can recline their seats, adjust the footrest and headrest for a first-class plane cabin feel, the statement said.
Director’s boxes will also be equipped with wireless charging, heated seats, and a personal swivel table.
In total, Dubai Hills Mall’s Roxy Cinemas will feature 15 screens, including seven platinum screens – which will open in October.
Platinum screen viewers can avail gourmet food from the lounge, ahead of the movie or from the viewer’s seat in the auditorium and will be served directly.
Seven silver screens along with the Roxy Xtreme will also be accessible in August, and will allow viewers to choose from a variety of food at the candy bar including classic cinema snacks, before relaxing in comfortable reclining seats, the statement said.
Roxy Cinema screens will function with NEC Laser Projectors and DOLBY Atmos, across all screens.
Tickets can be booked closer to the opening date via the Roxy Cinemas website or the Roxy Cinemas mobile application.
