UAE alerts of rough sea, strong winds, fog

Fog, mist and rough seas expected during the weekend

The UAE National Centre of Meteorology has alerted the public regarding northwesterly winds that are strong at times with a speed of 45 km/hr, rough sea with wave height reaching 8 feet and fog.

The weather is predicted to last until Saturday.

The alert was made through through the official page of the UAE National Centre of Meteorology on Twitter.

“Continuity of fresh Northwesterly winds and strong at times with a speed of 45 km/hr. and rough sea with wave height reaching 8 Ft in offshore of the Arabian Gulf from 09:00 Friday 17/02/2023 until 09:00 Saturday 18/02/2023,” the post read.

The fog alert issued highlights several areas of red and yellow, red highlighting actual areas of fog formation with visibility less than 1000m and yellow signifying expected areas of fog formation and mist.
